Ex-area resident gets 30 years for molesting 2 adolescent girls
A former Town of Boston resident was sentenced Wednesday to 30 years in prison for sexually assaulting two adolescent girls nearly a decade ago.
Francisco Tirado, 48, continued to proclaim his innocence as State Supreme Court Justice John L. Michalski handed down the sentence.
“I am innocent. I have not committed any crimes. I’m not guilty of these acts,” Tirado said.
He told the judge he would appeal the nonjury verdict and ask a higher court to order a jury trial.
After Tirado repeatedly called the girls, now both college students, liars in need of spiritual guidance, the judge denounced him for what he called his “insulting” denials of “inexcusable acts” with his victims.
“You’re the one that needs some intervention from above, sir,” Michalski said.
The judge also ordered Tirado to submit to seven years of post-prison supervision and issued protection orders barring him from contacting either victim until 2043.
Referring to the sentence, the judge said: “You deserved every minute.”
Prosecutors Marni Bogart and Rosanne Eimer Johnson told the judge that both victims— one of whom attended the sentencing — had asked that Tirado receive the maximum 32-year prison term.
On Feb. 9, Michalski found Tirado guilty of first-and second-degree criminal sexual acts for the repeated assaults on the girls.
During the five-day trial, both women identified Tirado as the man who molested them for several years until he left the area in 2004. Tirado denied the allegations.
